Chairman/Vice Chairman
- Composition : Plenary session secret election from the council member with one chairman, one vice chairmen
- Period of service : 2 years
- Responsibilities : The chairman represents the council and plays a vital role by organizing and supervising the session order. The vice chairman acts as a proxy when the chairman is not in place.
Committees
- Composition : The council has standing committees and special committees. There are three standing committees including the steering committee and they process relevant agendas and petitions. When investigations on specific matter are deemed necessary, special committees can be organized and operated by the decision of the plenary session.
- Responsibilities : The Steering Committee handles matters related to operating the council and secretariat, the Planning and Administration Committee handles matters related to the Planning and Audit Department, Future Growth Officer, Administrative Autonomy Bureau, Library, Dong Administration and Welfare Center, Facilities Management Corporation , Welfare and Urban Development Committee handles matters related to the Job Environment Bureau, Welfare and Education Bureau, Safety and Urban Affairs Bureau and health centers.
Council Executive Office
- Composition : The Busan Nam-gu District Council is assisted by a chairman and has two team under the executive office, while the Council Executive Office handles council administration.
- Responsibilities : The Council Executive Office is responsible for the establishment of the council’s basic operation planning, parliament advertisement, council public welfare, council-related public works, budget accounting, and installation of equipment. It also handles the council agenda, various meeting publications, council requests, meeting recording and managing, operating each Standing Committee, petition writing and distribution, and organization of letters of resolution.
