Chairman/Vice Chairman

  • Election : Plenary session secret election from the council member with one chairman, one vice chairmen
  • Period of service : 2 years
  • Tasks : The chairman represents the council and plays a vital role by organizing and supervising the session order. The vice chairman acts as a proxy when the chairman is not in place.

Committees

  • Composition : The council includes Standing Committees and Special Committees.
    The Standing Committee is composed of three councils by the jurisdiction of the implementing agency. It handles and evaluates bills and petitions, and is able to compose and operate a Special Committee with the decision of a plenary meeting when an investigation is proved to be needed.
  • Tasks : The Operation Committee from the Standing Committee handles the operation of the council and related jurisdiction of the council executive office, as well as the Library, Planning Inspection, Facility Management Office, Safe City, Health Center, City Committee for Resident Living, and Dong Resident Center related work.

Council Executive Office

  • Composition : The Busan Nam-gu District Council is assisted by a chairman and has two team under the executive office, while the Council Executive Office handles council administration.
  • Tasks : The Council Executive Office is responsible for the establishment of the council’s basic operation planning, parliament advertisement, council public welfare, council-related public works, budget accounting, and installation of equipment. It also handles the council agenda, various meeting publications, council requests, meeting recording and managing, operating each Standing Committee, petition writing and distribution, and organization of letters of resolution.
